Hyaluronic Serum: Why is hyaluronic acid the new wonder drug?

Hyaluronic acid – the anti-aging wonder weapon

Staying young forever – who wouldn’t want that? Although getting older does have its advantages. You find yourself, gain experience, become more relaxed. But if possible, you should not see it. Yet unfortunately, nobody can escape the ravages of time. In the meantime, however, no one has to put up with wrinkles that get deeper and sagging skin. Even going to a plastic surgeon is no longer necessary if you want your face to be wrinkle-free again. It is quite possible to reduce the traces of life experience gently and without undesirable side effects.

Wrinkle-free in a gentle way

The very first cosmetic surgery documented in Europe took place as early as the 16th century. The Italian professor and surgeon Gaspare Tagliacozzi was considered a pioneer in the field of plastic surgery and became famous for the method of nose reconstruction named after him. For a long time, the scalpel seemed to be the only way to rejuvenate the face.

Then came Botox. As it often happens, the stars from the USA first relied on the nerve poison as a wrinkle killer. The trend also spread across the pond to Europe and more and more people – mainly women – had the nerve poison injected against their frown lines, thinker’s forehead or crow’s feet. But it was not always as easy as it reads here. The wrinkles disappeared, but the face froze like a mask. There is plenty of photographic evidence of unsuccessful Botox treatments on the Internet. Those who were worried about these two methods had a problem for a long time.

But then another alternative for wrinkle reduction became more and more popular and has become the favourite of the cosmetics industry. And quite rightly so, because the effect is amazing. Not only does it reduce the unloved wrinkles and serves as a moisturizer, but it also does not affect facial expressions. The magic ingredient to gently eliminate wrinkles is called hyaluron – But what is hyaluronic acid?

Hyaluron – What is hyaluronic acid?

The name comes from the Greek and means as much as glass or transparent. In fact the substance is transparent and has a liquid, almost gel-like consistency. The best thing is that the human body can produce it itself. Hyaluronic acid is a very important component of connective tissue. It is also found in the vitreous body of the eye as well as in joints and cartilage. Here hyaluronic acid has the function of a lubricant. However, the skin has the largest share of it with almost 50%. Hyaluron has amazing abilities. A single gram of it can bind up to six litres of water. It keeps the epidermis and connective tissue beautifully firm and tight.

But what is hyaluronic acid? Hyaluronic acid is not only a true moisture depot. It also serves as a supplier of nutrients. In addition, it acts as a protective shield for the cells. Free radicals and harmful UV-radiation are filtered out and the internal cell transport is improved. It is therefore a true all-rounder. It has only one very decisive disadvantage: The production of hyaluronic acid is reduced by stress, unhealthy lifestyle and environmental pollution – and unfortunately also due to increasing age. Already from the age of 25 upwards the production decreases continuously. So goodbye smooth skin and hello to wrinkles? Not at all! Because you can return hyaluronic acid to the body.

How does hyaluronic acid work?

In order to understand the effect, one must first know that there are two types of this power substance: high-molecular and low-molecular hyaluronic acid.

The high-molecular variant has, as the name suggests, a very high molecular mass. It starts at 1,500 kD and is open to the top. A small note on the side: kD stands for KiloDalton. It was named after the British natural scientist and teacher John Dalton. Due to this molecular size, high-molecular hyaluronic acid cannot penetrate deep enough into the skin to make a lasting contribution to anti-aging. However, it can form a moisturizing film on the surface.

The molecular mass of the low-molecular counterpart is only 50 kD. This allows it to go much deeper. It can therefore moisturise and plump up the largest human organ from the inside. Wrinkles are thus smoothed out again.

This effect was also confirmed in a clinical study. The participants were divided into two groups: The first group received a cream with high-molecular hyaluron, the other one with low-molecular. After two weeks the skin of both groups looked more elastic and was well moisturized. However, the depth of wrinkles had been significantly reduced only in the low-molecular group. What does this mean? Both hyaluron variants are proven to do good. However, the hoped-for effect can only be achieved with the low-molecular type. Ideally, cream or serum should contain both types. This combination makes it possible as they are perfectly coordinated and therefore complement each other perfectly.

But not only the use of different hyaluronic acids in one product is important but also the ratio and the interaction of the different ingredients, according to the pharmaceutical practitioner of KONSENS. This is an essential craft that has an enormous influence on the quality and effectiveness of a cosmetic product and is sometimes a key factor in the creation of a product so that it can ultimately unfold the full desired effects.

The question remains how to get hold of this wonder weapon in the fight against anti-aging.

Two production methods

There are two ways of manufacturing, extraction from animal materials and biotechnological production.

In the early days of the hyaluron boom, the acid was extracted from animal products, mostly cockscombs. But the use of this cockscomb hyaluron had considerable disadvantages. It was not possible to completely extract the contained proteins. Therefore, the use of hyaluron products with animal protein repeatedly led to allergic reactions. In addition, one could not be quite sure whether pathogenic germs did not reach humans as a result.

In the 1990s, it was possible to develop a method of gaining hyaluron with the help of biotechnology. This method involves the bacterial fermentation of proteins from yeast. The product thus obtained is then filtered several times and thereby purified. This “veggie-hyaluron” has the great advantage that it is free of proteins and cannot cause allergies. That is why nowadays almost exclusively biotechnologically produced hyaluronic acid is used.

The hyaluronic acids we use in KONSENS products are all biotechnologically produced.

Which methods of application are there?

The multi-talent can of course be used in many ways. The application in cosmetics as cream and serum is well known.

Besides the external application the power acid can also be injected. Like Botox it is used for example for the injection of wrinkles. Unlike Botox, however, it does not cause the face to freeze.

For internal use, there are now also hyaluronan-containing drinks and tablets available. But the miraculous acid is not only used in cosmetics. It is also frequently used in medicine. A hyaluron injection can help with joint pain. But it is and remains an unbeatable anti-aging remedy and should therefore not be missing in any cosmetic cabinet.

High-end cosmetics for effective anti-aging

For an effective anti-aging you don’t need a scalpel or a Botox injection (but we are not against it either). High-end cosmetics in the form of hyaluron-containing creams and serums gently counteract the formation of wrinkles. However, it is important that a high-quality product is used.

In all of KONSENS‘ creams and serums, carefully selected, efficient raw materials are used. Especially in the serums, the active ingredient NovHyal, a 3rd generation hyaluronic acid, unfolds its potent effect in combination with other active and auxiliary substances. This is because the body’s own hyaluronic acid production decreases due to skin aging and the influence of free radicals. NovHyal intervenes in this process and stimulates the production of the body’s own hyaluronic acid in the cells. The interaction of this active ingredient with consciously selected hyaluronic acids and other active ingredients will both excite and amaze.

KONSENS Anti-Aging Hyaluronic Serum is a reliable partner against the unwanted signs of skin aging. The largest human organ is moisturized and looks younger and firmer again. Deeply buried expression lines are now a thing of the past. Used regularly, the first results will soon be visible. The hyaluronic serum brings back a bit of youthfulness – and all without an injection or surgery.

The high-tech products from KONSENS cannot turn back time, but they can make sure that it does run a little slower.
